My name is David Ladouceur. I first started exploring my ancestry or genealogy around 2010. Until then I simply regarded myself as white, half French and half Irish. However, once I discovered my maternal great grandmother Kate Miller 1861-1901 and my 2GGPs Alfred Miller 1834-1910 and Mary Jane Miller 1831-1916, and further back, I soon discovered I have some additional and somewhat surprising roots. While these Millers were mulattos or mixed race, part of their roots trace back to Africa, not Native America as some forklore of loosely based webites would have you believe.
